From Ron / Ronnie :
Let's see hmmmm. I've lived in NYC for 33 years where I continue to sing and act. I never got "OKLAHOMA!" out of my system I guess.I have a fabulous wife named Dona and equally fabulous daughter named Charlotte. Charlotte just finished her freshman year at the University of Michigan. She's majoring in DRAMA. Go figure? Needles to say, her Mom and Dad are mad for her. Dona and I have been married for 22 years in Sept. I'm looking forward to seeing all my Doches friends and hearing about your lives.

After 30 years, I returned to Nacogdoches in the summer of 2005 after living in Lubbock for 8 years and Fountain Hills, Arizona for 22 years.  I graduated from Texas Tech School of Law in 1982 and was licensed in Arizona for 22 years, but decided against taking the Texas Bar exam at this stage of my life.  I am a legal assistant for a local attorney who specializes in estate planning and probate.  I'm  happy to be back "home".

From John:
If you had told me at NHS graduation how life would have turned out, I would not have believed you. It has been different than I would have ever imagined. But that's good, and change is good. After NHS, I attended Rice University in Houston on a Navy ROTC scholarship, majoring in physics. On the day in 1972 that I graduated, I also received my commission as an officer in the US Navy. My four years of naval service was spent as an instructor of steam power systems and nuclear reactor theory in the Nuclear Propulsion Program, preparing officers and enlisted men to man the Navy's nuclear-powered submarines and surface vessels. I had the privilege of working under Admiral Hyman G. Rickover, the Father of the Nuclear Navy. After my naval service, I attended Harvard University in Cambridge, Mass., where I obtained a masters degree in physics. Imagine a small-town kid from Nacogdoches being around Nobel Laureates in physics! It was while living in the Boston area that I met my wife, Fran. We moved to Dallas in 1979 when I took a job as an engineer in the semiconductor industry for a then-famous company named Mostek. While at Mostek I obtained an MBA degree in the night/weekend program at the University of Dallas. In 1983, I left Mostek and went into the investment banking field, which I pursued at two Dallas-based firms until 1996, at which time I hung out my own shingle (Maxwell, Wallace & Co.) as a consultant, primarliy in the fiber optic components and systems industry. Through all my career twists and turns, I got to use both my physics and finance backgrounds. For a short period of time, 2003-2006, I was employed with Morgan Stanley. Since 2006 I have been "retired." Now, I work diligently on my golf game (it doesn't need work; it needs a miracle) and read many books, mostly non-fiction, and periodicals. History, economics and religion, mostly. I am also "into" health and fitness in a pretty big way. Fran and I have two children, of both of whom we are extremely proud.

I went to SFA to avoid the draft and graduated in '72 with a degree in accounting.  I got drafted anyway so thank you AF for being there.  I went to pilot training and on graduation got into fighters.  I had a great 32 and a half, and retired 3 years ago.  Now I can do things as I want and at my own pace. I enjoy just hanging around the farm.

From Edsel:

Following graduation from Nacogdoches High School, I enrolled at Stephen F. Austin State University in the summer of 1968. I attended two years of college, majoring in Agriculture before entering the US Army in May 1970. A Vietnam Veteran, I served one tour of duty in Vietnam as a combat medic and preventive medicine specialist before being honorably discharged in 1972 at the rank of Specialist 5th Class. I was awarded the Army Commendation Medal for Meritorious Service while serving in Vietnam.

After discharge from military service, I returned to my academic studies at SFA. While in the military I decided to seek a longtime dream of entering law enforcement. I began a course of study leading to a double major in Criminal Justice and Psychology and began employment with the Texas Department of Corrections in 1976. After completing the TDC Training Academy I was assigned as a Correctional Officer at the Darrington Unit in Rosharon, Texas. I obtained the rank of sergeant and was working in inmate classification when I accepted employment with the Texas Board of Pardons and Paroles as an Institutional Parole Officer. I left the Parole Board in 1986 and returned to the Texas Department of Criminal Justice to work in Health Services. I was selected to serve as manager of the TDCJ Southern Region EMS program in 1987. I relocated to Huntsville after being promoted to EMS Operations Officer in October 1994 and was promoted to the position of Manager of Medical Transportation Services for the Texas Prison System in March 2000. I retired with 30 years of service to the State of Texas in August 2006. After a short time, I decided retirement wasn’t all it was cracked up to be and began looking for second career opportunities. I began employment with the Montgomery County Sheriff Office as the Jail Medical Supervisor on April 21, 2007.

My work in health services came as a result of the medical training and background of the army. After returning to Nacogdoches and continuing my education in 1972, a life long friend (G.W. Jones) approached me about working with the Nacogdoches Hospital District EMS program. After relocating to Brazoria County, I worked with representatives from the City of Angleton to form a volunteer EMS program in 1980. I was a charter member of Angleton Area Emergency Medical Corps and served as the organization’s first EMS Director for 14 years before accepting a position in Huntsville in 1994. I became the organizations first EMT-Paramedic in 1982 and worked as an EMS instructor at Brazosport College while continuing fulltime employment with the State of Texas and serving as Angleton’s EMS Director. I also served as the EMS representative to the Brazoria County Emergency Management Office during this same period.

I am the proud father of a 24 year old daughter, Stephanie Nichole. She graduated from Stephen F. Austin in May 2006 and is currently employed by the Danbury Independent School District as an elementary school teacher. She was married on 7-7-07. I continue to enjoy travel, golf, hunting, spending time with my family and friends, and searching for my next broken heart.
